Setting Up Eudora for Mac OS 8 -9

Double-click on the Eudora application icon to start Eudora.


The application may ask if you would like to import settings and mail from another email client on your computer. Click No unless you want to import mail from another program.

You may be prompted to set Eudora to be the default mail handler. If you choose Yes, then Eudora will open every time you click an email link on a web page. Choose either Yes or No (based on your preference) to continue.


The Settings window will appear

Click the Getting Started icon.

In the Username field, type your username.methownet. (Whatever your username is, then .methownet)

In the Mail Server field, type your Incoming mail server (POP) mail.methownet.com.

In the Real Name field, type your name.

In the SMTP Server field, type your Outgoing mail server (SMTP) mail.methownet.com.

In the Return Address field, type your entire email address (e.g., biff@methownet.com).

 

Click the Checking Mail icon.



You can double check your mail settings here.

You can also set up your Connection and Download preferences.


Click the Attachments icon.



Click the AppleDouble ("MIME") radio button in the Encoding method area.
Click the OK button.


You have successfully set up Eudora 5.x for Mac OS 8 - 9 to send and receive email.
